What is performance art?
The last performance informs on the next one; each performance is therefore a practice, a lesson, an exercise and an experience. So, for me to perform is to practice and to learn. In a performance I investigate on what to do and how
to do it, and to question but most of the time not finding or providing the answers I create an experience during a performance when through the use of objects and materials, the audience shares with me the understanding of them. The tension between a desire to communicate and the intense ambiguity preoccupies me in my performances. I like it when art makes me feel certain kind of wonderment and excitement, and when it makes me think. The strength of my performance also comes from the
visual imagery it presents. Performance art is a visual art form. In every performance, I am concerned with the image created. |
